~*foOod foOood foOood*~

If you didnt already know... one of my favourite hobby is taking pictures of food!! Esp every since I got my Canon Fx70 ^^ This tendency of mine doesnt change when I'm in Brissy. haha.

Brissy, as country with many nationalities, lives up to her name. To cater to the many different people... of most are Asians, you can find lots and lots of asian food here! haha.. so I have not been much homesick for food.. well..cept for durians..>.< (you can only find frozen,smell-less ones here)let me show you some of the yummy food I have been indulgin on... ...

In Fortitude Valley (Chinatown)... there's a little place called cyber city... yum. from the left its braised bean curd(top), braised pig intestine(below) and squid!! The intestine and squid are so chewy they give your jaw an amazing workout..

Haa...I'll give Aussie credit. they have Nandos here!! yummm.. The rooster was so cute I forgot to take a picture of my food. haha!

Align Center The Fish and Chips here are REALLY good too! Cept the size of the portions are suffocatingly BIGGGG...>.<

Align Center Authentic Korean Bim Bim Bab!! super yummy! I like!Perfect for a cold day too!

Horfun!! really really nice horfuns from Sunny banks!! I ate the one on the left. Yum..

*^Thank You^*

One can never run out of thank yous to say... if you concentrate on counting your blessings. And now that I'm away.. I find that the veil to blessings have just been lifted a little bit more.. and .. well.. to the people around me.. I just wanna say...Thank You!!!

To my family....
A source of support.. you brought me up.. you gave me that sense of security and I can say I'm coming 'home'..for the sincere prayers...for washing my clothes and teaching me how to wash them..for hot meals. Thou, its not a family tradition to say Thank You... here it is... Thank You...

To my infailable 2 hot babes Sara and Rachel....

*~Greetings from Brisbane~*

I'm here! Brisbane!!! After a pretty harrowing and lonely flight. My butt still have nightmares from the flight..sandwiched between 2 guys... getting to the toilet was an adventure.. I hate crowded flights. blah.

My trip here? Nothing short of an adventure. Its the first time i'm flying alone..and I get to navigate my way alone to the domestic airport from the International airport via airtrain. It was fun. ^^ Figuring things out for yourself.

Even on a trip alone all by myself..I could actually feel God's hand of protection..His cover of favor. Protection is obvious... ^^ Somehow in a so foreign country..I can feel pretty much at home and not terribly homesick..yet. ^^ Favor comes in subtle, yet amazing ways. Everybody dreads going through declaration in Aussie.. esp fo people like me who seldom go by, we do not know what to expect. Basically, if you declare something, you're required to go thru some baggage scanning.. or if they suspect you of indeed carrying bad stuff they needs more checking, they put u straight through to open baggage checking. and i ended in....open baggage checking. duh. Maybe I was looking a little too blur. what can u expect from a girl who just got through a lonely flight.. with less then an hour of sleep.duh. I felt positively 'little' at the airport. (Having to squeeze thru the mob to lug my baggage off the baggage claim area and getting unbalanced cos it was so heavy.... )

Anyways, back to it.. the 'open baggage queue' was the longest and slowest of them all. You see Indians with their outrageously huge packages.. chinese from china with equally huge packages..and I start to think.. 'where on earth do I fit in here..?!' All i had to declare was a packet of instant noodles..>.<>.< but I'm not gonna die anytime soon!! I love it here so far.. but I miss home.. I miss the people.. I miss the food.I'm so glad God's coming along.. I will never be ALONE.. ^^ Im still really touched by the crowd thou... we gave Popeys some serious business! I love u guys! Hugs alll around!

I realised I never blogged abt Cebu yet.. (^_^)

Cebu.. the place deprived of credit its dued. More than just for its beautiful beaches...clear waters.. popular hotspots for diving and snorkelling, I'm giving credit to her beautiul people.

Thou not a fast paced, 1st world city like Singapore.. its beautiful and unique in her own way. Living among the simple and easily satified people teaches you a thing or two..hmm..maybe more :)

I went there, not for a holiday.. not for a stay at shrangrila.. but for a mission trip. This trip is my 2nd time i've been there.. and its amazing how new each experience still is. Longer than any other mission trip to Cebu (I think), this trip stretched for 9 days! 9 very, very rewarding days.

Just to do a breif recount of the more memorable events:
- Vistation of a dumpsite. To their church and to see how they work and how they live. They are scavanges (apparently, I dun know how it works out, but thats an occupation)If you cant take the smell of an ordinary rubbish truck in SG goin by.. you really SHOULD go there ^^. It was an honour really. no outsiders were allowed in before and even their own people needed ID tags to get it.

-Dancing on dead old corals. Why? cos thats where people live! It was amazing.. 1 rock per person ^^

-The highligh of every Cebu trip..Teen Challenge open house! Which is basically bringing street kids back.. playing with them... bathing them.. feeding them.. taking a nap with with them... and finding how how rewarding the whole experience can be. Most of them have been through more than their fair share of burdens.. of pains.. and for them to trust me enough to sleep on me.. .... =p

-Hiking up the hills to visit the people in a village! I feel so clumsy sliding around the path cut out from the side of the hill in comaprision to the native people! ^^ ah-ha..and Karaoke session with the people. Who said Christians are stuffy old religions people! Somebody was belting out Tarzan and Jane! haha... I was so amused.. but i would never wanna sing the song ' Deliah' again. I never knew it was such a morbid song..>.<

With Cebu, I take away happy memories that I never want to forget..and i take it all the way to Aussie~ Happy people that I'll always remember. To have little and yet be so satisfied... sometimes... u envy them. What is satisfaction? To most Singaporeans.. they might never get to that level of satisfaction cos society teaches you that its not enough.. but you know.. there's always gonna be someone richer and more successful than you.. so give it up. Enjoy life while you can.. embrace life ^^
